Deeply proud to announce that Nature Mental Health featured our recent Psychoneuroendocrinology article! This study examined how experiencing intersectional discrimination gets under the skin. Low-income, sexual minority participants of color provided a hair sample to measure the amount of cortisol, a stress hormone, they experienced in the last month. Our results showed that intersectional experiences of prejudice, rather than minoritized identity itself, drive negative health outcomes.
